ONE MINUTE SILENCE Issue Official Statement Regarding Split With V2

January 31, 2002

ONE MINUTE SILENCE have issued an official statement announcing their split with V2 Records (as exclusively reported here on January 22nd) and the group's future plans. Here is the press release in its entirety:

"ONE MINUTE SILENCE have now parted company with V2 Records. Despite the band's option for their third album being picked up early in 2001, a change in the presidency of V2 Records Inc. in America, to whom they were signed, meant long delays in any real decision making with regard to getting a producer and a studio booked. This was thereby seriously hindering the band's career by creating long delays between the release of Buy Now, Saved Later and the new album. It was thereby agreed that it would be better if the band parted company with V2. This was done by a 'severance agreement' which has only just been signed.

"In the meantime, the band have demoed 13 tracks for the new album, they have been demoed by a major label in the UK and are currently talking to various other labels. The third album is planned for release in September with the new label to be confirmed shortly.

"Despite all this, ONE MINUTE SILENCE's profile remains at an all time high in the UK they are about to tour Arenas in the UK as special guests of SLIPKNOT, they have secured consistently fantastic live reviews in the press from their sell out headline tour in December and their latest video 'Rise and Shine' is playlisted on Kerrang TV and MTV2/The Riot."
